Duramed Futures Tour Qualifier
Sorry it’s been a while since my last post. I just got home from a two week trip to Lakeland Florida for the Duramed Futures Tour Qualifier.
The Qualifier took place on four different golf courses all around Polk County , Fl.
The courses included, Lake Region Yacht and Country Club, in Winter Haven.
The Golf Club at Bridgewater, Lakeland
Huntington Hills GC, Lakeland and finally
Ridgewood Lakes Golf and Country Club, Davenport.
Now for the important stuff, how did I do?
I opened with a 76 on Ridgewood Lakes, my round included a double on the first hole and a double on the 18th. Not exactly my dream start. The next day I moved on to Bridgewater Golf Club and shot a disappointing 80. That day I spent most of my time taking drops from the lateral hazards that surrounded every hole. If there was a long thick grass with a red pole next to it chances are my ball was in there. I realized that it wasn’t my day when I came up to the par three, number 14 and I hit the best 4 iron of my life from 185 yards and flew the green by 30. It was a little downwind but I think i was so annoyed from the previous holes I decided to let one go. It was the first shot that I hit the way I wanted to, I watched it sail right over the flagstick where I short sided myself and had no possible shot at par. I finished my round from that point one under par for the remaining four holes. So it could’ve been worse!
Moving on, I finished my tournament with back to back 75′s. Not my best but not bad. I still earned myself a card for next year. All is not lost! I just have to work harder. All things being equal, I had a great time and enjoyed the tournament, hazards and all!
Have a good day everyone, and please stay tuned!
My next tournament is November 22nd in Thousand Oaks , California.
